Creedmoor

The city of Creedmoor is located in Travis County, Texas. The 2010 census listed the population at 202. This city is a suburb of Austin. The area is considered suburban, with many families living in a single home. Residents enjoy the convenience of a downtown and easy access to I-35 and I-35W. The school district includes one elementary, one middle and one high school. This is a great place to raise a family!

The population of Creedmoor grew from twenty people in 1896 to about 150 people by the end of the 19th century. A cyclone in 1925 destroyed the four-room school and a gin. In 1946, Creedmoor had seven businesses and more than thirty dwellings. Cotton was a major industry here. In the 1950s, Austin threatened to annex the town, but the citizens decided to incorporate and became the ninth city in Travis County. The city had a population of 203 in 1990 and 211 in 2000. In the 1950s, the community was booming, with a post office, two gins, a bank, and seven businesses. Although the population grew, Creedmoor’s main industries were cotton, cattle, and dairy farming.
